Danica (Nikki) Rosengren (she/her) is an artist integration consultant, trauma informed arts education specialist, theatre maker and activist. She dedicates herself to fostering communication and connection, and spreading adventure, love and joy.
She moved to Hawai'i in February of 202 to become the Arts Education Specialist for the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. She has worked with organizations throughout Hawai'i to strengthen arts education in and outside the classroom. In addition to her education work, she initiated a partnership between Honolulu Theatre for Youth and Capitol Moden to develop immersive, site specific gallery installations/theatre performances for neurodivergent young people. These installations then transform into pre-school touring productions with Honolulu Theatre for Youth throughout the islands.
She has worked with the Hawai'i Department of Education to develop a puppetry and theatre integrated health curriculum, and is in the midst of develop trauma informed arts integrated sexual violence prevention curriculum.
She received her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern and her Master of Fine Arts in Theatre for Youth from Arizona State University. In addition to her work in the US, she has traveled to Aotearoa, Australia, the UK, Ireland, Denmark, Argentina and South Korea to research, present and create performances.
Her parents and grandparents instilled in her a love of nature and traveling, which often influences the art she creates.
