Using Visuals to Support Communication
Thursday October 10, 2024 1:00pm - 3:00pm HST
Participants will learn how visuals can be used to help support communication skills.  Children with different communication abilities from non-speaking to speaking multiple words can participate in activities with the aid of visual support.  Explicit instruction, visual support, and strategies will be used to teach the participants how to use two visual tools.  During this workshop, participants will engage in hands-on activities to describe objects and to retell a personal event or activity.

Learner Outcomes:  Participants will be able to name 2 visual tools to expand communication skills and demonstrate how to use visual supports with students of different communication skills.
